Portugal's rights to Olivença & Vila Real (Alandroal)

have been recognized under International Law

by The Treaty of Paris 1814, and
The Treaty of Vienna 1815, Final Act 105:
Signed and ratified by Britain, France, Prussia (Germany), Russia, Sweden-Norway,
&
Spain

"Recognizing the justice of the claims formulated by his Royal Highness, the Prince Regent of Portugal and Brazil, on the village of Olivença and the other territories yielded to Spain by the Treaty of Badajoz of 1801, and considering the restitution of these things as one of the adequate measures to assume the good, full and stable harmony between the two kingdoms of the Peninsula, whose conservation in all parts of Europe has been the constant purpose of their negotiations, the Powers formally pledge to make the most efficient efforts, by conciliatory means, to return the aforesaid territories to Portugal.  And the Powers recognize, as far as it depends on each one of them, that this must take place as quickly as possible."

And not forgetting The Treaty of Cadiz 1810 - Article IV

English Translation:  "So as to wipe out entirely the memory of the persistent discord, that has existed between the two monarchies. against each other's interests, the government of Spain agrees that the city of Olivença, its territory and dependencies be reunited again in perpetuity to the crown of Portugal."
